Accordingly, there are many sites that explain how to obtain books, military/medical records, information and how to appeal a denied claim with the VA. Please pass this information on to every Veteran you know. Nearly 100% of this information is free and available for all veterans, the only catch is: you have to ask for it, because they won't tell you about a specific benefit unless you ask for it. You need to know what questions to ask so the right doors open for you and then be ready to have an advocate who is willing to work with and for you, stay in the process, and press for your rights and your best interests. Post 1525 has elected new officers for the 2011 - 2012 year. Commander Pete Loechner is stepping down from the office he has so ably held for the past six years to concentrate on his other office as Comander of the 25th District (VFW CA Dist. 25). To serve for the coming year, the post elected Paul Carroll, Commander; Doug Williams, Sr. Vice Commander; Malcolm Mailey, Junior Vice Commander; Craig Peterson, Quartermaster; Tom Kelnhofer, Chaplain; Pete Loechner, Judge Advocate; Bob Jenkin, Surgeon; and Duane Peterson, 3 Year Trustee and Adjutant. The public is invited to breakfast, served by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1525 and our special Teen Team, every second and forth Sunday, from 8:00 to 11:00 AM, at the Veterans' Memorial Hall in Concord, at 2290 Willow Pass Road (and Colfax). The VFW is now serving breakfast twice each month. These breakfasts are the fundraisers that keep our Post afloat and you can contribute simply by paying four bucks for a great meal. No reservation required. All members, potential members of the VFW and their guests are invited to join a group from Post 1525 for lunch at noon each Wednesday at various eateries in the area of Clayton Valley/Concord.
